Each summer a number of new bikinis are available and we all head out to buy them in the hope of looking more attractive, more youthful and more like you were born to wear a bikini.
With so much choice out there it’s hard to know where you stand; do you opt for the full swimsuit to hide any lumps around the stomach area, perhaps the tankini to show off those legs, maybe a 1960’s style high waist shorts and halter neck combo?
Whatever style you go for, one of the most important parts is the print you choose or the colour of your choice.
A solid colour makes the bikini more prominent on your body whereas prints could give the illusion of a smaller yet more striking bikini.
Colours
Strong colours will always be a winner – especially the classic black bikini. Black is slimming, easy on the eye and also looks great as a one piece swimsuit: it can also accentuate your tan, too.
But for those of you who may be a bit bored with black and want something brighter you are in luck.
This summer pinks are very much in. Seafolly’s Goddess Monroe Maillot with pleat details is simply stunning. The dark pink works wonders as a glamorous swimming costume.
Any stand alone bold colour will have heads turning as you stroll across the sand.
If pink isn’t for you, thanks to the Royal Wedding no doubt, royal colours are very much in for summer 2011 with navy blue, bright white and sunrise gold taking centre stage.
Pastels
Traditional with all bikini colour trends are coral and pastel colours. Yellows, lavender, aqua and coral pink are all colours that regularly feature on the bikini palette. Aqua blue looks fabulous on all skin types and in all forms from swimsuits to tankinis, aqua blue is a staple of the bikini colour palette.
Oceanic colours work well as prints too. Banana Moon Bikinis have a number of soft violet bikini mixed with blue that are perfect for lazing in the sun.
